Market-leader Océ has been linking human artistic flair to the combined  power of the worldwide web and world-leading printing systems in a unique offering on its stand at  Sign & Digital UK at the NEC in Birmingham from 12-14 April 2011.

As part of its pledge to have significant customer interaction, visitors to Océ’s stand D10 at the show in Halls 17 and 18 have been making their mark on a special graffiti wall with a design that was then produced using instant poster power.

An artist has been providing the final touches so that the ‘works of art’ can be created into a poster and then printed off immediately using Océ’s award-winning ColorWave™ 600 super-fast wide-format system that was launched to the world three years ago.

It is based on pioneering technology called Océ CrystalPoint™ where resin balls, instead of ink, are converted into a gel that is then jetted and crystallised on to the paper. The printing system also benefits from no emissions of ozone, odour or fine powder and does not use liquids or inks.

It takes just 34 seconds to print A0-size full colour sheets on all kinds of media, ranging from uncoated and recycled papers through to specialties such as Tyvek for maximum durability.

At Sign and Digital UK, Océ’s not-to-be missed stand also included live demonstrations on the Océ Arizona 550XT and Océ 350 GT systems, both part of the Océ Arizona family, the world’s best-selling UV flatbed printers for the display graphics market. Both are powered by ONYX® Workflow Software X10 Océ Edition market-leading RIP software.

Once again, Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, has been partnering Zünd Plotting Systems (UK) Ltd, the UK distributor for Zünd Systems Technik AG, the Swiss manufacturer of digital flatbed cutters. The two companies have been displaying the Zünd G3 L2500 digital cutting system.

Océ Imaging Supplies has also been demonstrating its offerings from the largest media compatibility database on the internet. Details from http://www.mediaguide.oce.com/

And each day at the show has also been a daily prize draw for a £500 Océ Media Voucher. Visitors registered on the Océ stand, either by having their badges scanned or left  business cards.

Dominic Fahy, Océ UK’s Business Group Director, Display Graphics and Imaging Supplies, said: “There has been a lot of interest and amusement in watching the graffiti take shape, particularly as everybody has an artistic streak in them somewhere.  Combining this with the power of the worldwide web and instant poster power through our Océ ColorWave is yet another example of how the display graphics market can benefit from our pioneering technologies and systems.”
