One of our most significant and impressive technologies released to the market is the HS Series single pass printer, created in partnership with Barberán, which combines Barberán’s precision engineering with Fujifilm’s mastery of ink chemistry and inkjet technology.
The perfect match
Barberán, headquartered in Spain, specialises in manufacturing high-end, high productivity industrial presses for the corrugated market while Fujifilm has unrivalled knowledge of inkjet integration, ink chemistry and extensive experience in the sign and display market.
Thanks to our decades of experience in manufacturing the highest quality inks at our site in Broadstairs, UK, our inks function seamlessly, adhering to numerous substrates and ultimately ensuring high quality prints, regardless of the material. Due to their versatility and ability to be used on different substrates and for a range of applications, our inks significantly cut down consumable costs – for example, the need for a primer is reduced and in some cases eliminated – making them the ideal choice for PSPs.
Competitive edge
Although decades ago, traditional printers had to choose between high speed production and high quality output, with the HS Series, we have successfully managed to bridge this gap. Capable of printing more than 6,000m2 per hour and widths of up to 1.6m, it delivers unparalleled efficiency, quality, versatility and, of course, speed.
The HS Series comprises two main models: the HS3000 and the HS6000. The HS6000 is designed for industrial-scale, high speed printing, while the HS 3000 provides a more affordable yet still high speed option. Both models are fitted with Epson S3200 printheads, which boast a five picolitre droplet size and deliver high quality output at top speeds.
The series also offers unrivalled modularity to achieve optimum results for specific business needs. Customers can tailor the press to include (or exclude) various stacking and feeding options, allowing the machine to further meet specific business needs. Whichever configuration is chosen, the HS Series allows print service providers to push the boundaries of productivity without compromising on quality.
The HS Series also incorporates several cutting-edge features that enhance its functionality, as well as the user experience. The LED curing system ensures efficient energy use and superior print quality, while the integrated printhead cleaning station allows quick and easy maintenance, minimising downtime. In addition, the optional enclosure available with the HS6000 model creates a controlled environment around the machine, protecting it from dust and humidity to ensure consistently high performance across all job runs.
Market acceptance
Our first ever HS Series customer, full-service creative marketing agency Linney, which completed the deal at Drupa 2024, will soon experience firsthand the benefits of the ultra-high productivity machine. The company opted for a model with top feeding and top stacking, and without a priming station to capitalise on the superior performance of our inks across the various materials it prints on a day-to-day basis. We are now talking to more prospective customers, across the globe, who are looking to follow suit.
We are excited to see how our customers – current and future – will utilise the full capabilities of the HS Series. It’s set to help them generate new business and reach new levels of productivity – and profits.
