CMYUK Textiles has secured a substantial UK stock provision of 300,000 non-permeable, protective healthcare gowns and1.5m community grade facemasks per week.
The UK national textiles specialist has prepared for an immense rise in demand for healthcare protection and community masks as the UK enters into the ‘new normal’ of social distancing.
Personal protection items will become commonplace, if not mandatory in some areas of public life.
CMYUK’s protective healthcare gowns are produced in conjunction with PONGS, its long-standing, German textiles partner recognised for its stringent ecological and accredited manufacturing standards, premium quality products within this trusted and established supply chain.
Premium protective healthcare gowns made from 100% soft cotton have an outer PU coating that creates a non-permeable liquid barrier, which is anti-viral, sterilisation-safe and reusable. Gowns can withstand approximately 100 industrial washes, are white and come in one-size-fits all.
Reusable community grade mouth/nose masks are made from dual layer pure cotton offering greater hygienic comfort. Available in two different styles with back-of-head ties or behind-the-ears elastic fastenings, they can withstand 100 industrial washes at near boiling temperatures.
Masks have stringent eco credentials and are REACH compliant with OEKO-TEX certification. Due to their longevity, they are environmentally responsible and highly cost-efficient when compared to the long-term daily use of other disposable products.
Community masks are suitable for all types of business as well as employees, customers, the public at large and are available in children’s sizes.
In the case of supermarkets, retailers or brands, these mouth/nose masks can be custom printed with company logos to match corporate style.
Robin East, Group Director at CMYUK said, “We are pleased to have established extremely large, consistent volumes of protective healthcare gowns and community grade face masks. We are set to see an explosion in demand for healthcare protection and community facemasks for the general public. Extended personal protection is becoming a feature of our lives until a vaccine for COVID-19 is developed.”
