Hampshire Flags fly at international multi-sport event

Flags made on the south coast took centre stage at the world's third largest international multi-sport event.  An extensive selection of Hampshire Flag Company's products were flown at the 2013 World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) which took place in Belfast.

This biennial sporting event for serving and retired police, fire, prison and border security officers featured more than 60 large national flags along with 1 yard flags from every competing nation stitched together by WPFG to create one giant flag, all of which were supplied by Waterlooville-based Hampshire Flag Company.  The WPFG is the largest ever sporting event to take place in Northern Ireland with 56 sports held at 41 venues across Northern Ireland with almost 7,000 competitors from 67 countries taking part.

Hampshire Flag supplied national flags from Argentina and Estonia to Monaco and Venezuela, all of which were used in the opening ceremony and carried by volunteers.  Graham Wilkinson, Hampshire Flag's Managing Director, said, “We're delighted that our flags have played their part in this year's World Police and Fire Games, which is an incredible event not just for the local community but for the serving and retired members of the emergency services from around the world who took part.  It's great that sport is in the spotlight once again and fantastic that our flags were used at key and high profile times during the Games."
