Prismaflex helps recapture past glories for today’s rail commuters

Poster and large format printer Prismaflex is doing its bit to cheer rail commuters by collaborating with a station manager and an artist passenger to make Didcot station in the Thames Valley even more lovely.

The Didcot station manager is Kim Higgs and a regular commuter is Prismaflex UK's chief executive officer, Sam Cook.  Higgs and artist/passenger Chris Jennings decided that some new prints of handsome old steam trains would be an adornment to the station so Cook stepped in by offering to print them.

Prismaflex has already supplied many products and prints within the railway network and is a registered supplier through Network Rail quality standards operator Achilles.  Cook was able to assure his creative collaborators that the new pictures would be printed on Prismaflex’s exclusive ‘Class 0’ material which is fireproof and meets all Network Rail’s exacting safety standards.

Station master Higgs says, “These old steam trains are part of our heritage and it’s fantastic that Chris Jennings has produced these wonderful new images for us. But we would never have made the idea reality without Prismaflex.”

Sam Cook adds, “Kim and his dynamic team help to make travelling from Didcot to London a real pleasure and this has been helped by the investment the council is making too. We’re also delighted to do our bit to make the station even more attractive and welcoming.”
