Epson products have registered a double success at the 2014 European Digital Press Association (EDP) awards announced at FESPA Digital this week.  EDP named the Epson SureColor SC-F2000 “Best Direct Garment Textile Printer” and Japanese Kozo Paper Thin as “Best No-Adhesive Roll Media”.

Each year the EDP Awards recognise the best innovative technology launched into the digital printing market.

The SureColor SC-F2000, Epson’s first direct-to-garment T-shirt printer, enables small to medium business to offer new T-shirt design and print services.  The printer combines high performance with low maintenance and running costs, and is supplied with Epson’s Garment Creator software, which includes a cost-calculation function that estimates the cost of reach job by calculating the amount and cost of ink used.

Epson’s first Japanese-inspired media, Japanese Kozo Paper Thin is a translucent, natural-fibre, mulberry-based inkjet paper that is just 34 gsm, yet strong and durable.  The combination of coating and ink delivers high colour density, suiting it ideally to high-end photography, fine art display and interior design.  Designed for easy printing, the paper can be used to produce products as diverse as Japanese screens, room dividers, and even paper windows.

Duncan Ferguson, Epson Europe’s Director, Pro Graphics, says, “The EDP Awards recognise innovations that make a difference in the digital print sector, so to win two in one year is an achievement we are very proud of.  In their different ways, both the SureColor SC-F2000 and the Japanese Kozo Paper Thin highlight how we continue to provide our customers with products with which to explore new opportunities in new markets.”
