Fujifilm Graphic Systems UK has confirmed its continued support of the PrintIT! educational initiative. Since PrintIT!’s launch seven years ago, Fujifilm has been firmly behind the programme, which aims to develop young students’ knowledge of print and promote the industry as a career route.
Keith Dalton, director at Fujifilm Graphic Systems UK, comments, “PrintIT! is a fantastic initiative for students in that it encourages them to take an interest in print, and we are always delighted to see the high number of quality entries in the competition every year. We are really delighted that over the last couple of years it has been successful enough to broaden its remit from GCSE to A-Level students. It’s great to hear that the programme continues to have a real impact on the perception of the industry among participating students.”
Recent evidence suggests that students are three times as likely to think about taking an apprenticeship after completing PrintIT!. Concludes Keith, “The programme continues to be a very important and valuable tool in helping to develop the printers of tomorrow, and we’re proud to be part of it.”
PrintIT! is led by Proskills, the Sector Skills Council for the Process and Manufacturing Sector, which includes the print and paper industries.
