GDS specialises in the sale and support of large format printers, scanners and print consumables. Originally started in Warrington in May 1998 by Managing Director Mark Walker, the firm moved to Macclesfield in Cheshire back in 2011 when it had outgrown its original premises.
Over the past twenty years the business has seen big changes in the purchasing habits of consumers; whilst in the beginning it mainly comprised of face to face communication with customers, it is now predominantly driven by online sales. GDS is now a multi-million pound a year operation and has set its sights firmly on further growth.
In the early days GDS focused on the OCE range of analogue printers and plotter models such as the HP 500. Time and technology has moved fast and the current models of Canon imagePROGRAF, PRO-Series and state of the art HP T-series MFPs and HP Latex make up the core business. GDS is currently one of Canon’s top 3 performing UK wide format partners and a top 20 Canon European Premier Partner. GDS has achieved Canon Accredited Select Partner Status in all three channels of CAD, Graphics and Photo Select as well as an HP Gold DesignJet Specialist.
From its head office base GDS offers demonstration facilities for clients and has become renowned for the unbiased and detailed help and advice offered to prospective customers looking to purchase a large format device.
