Pureprint / Imprint has reported robust year-end results for 2023 and unveiled a significant multi-site investment to upgrade its Uckfield and Newcastle facilities, further enhancing its ability to deliver outstanding print and marketing services to its diverse client base.
Results:
Pureprints parent company (which includes the separate entity Imprint) has published its 2023 financial statements, marking another year of strong performance. Despite challenging market and macroeconomic conditions, the group achieved record revenue and EBITDA figures, solidifying its position across several key markets.
This success follows the ongoing strengthening of the group’s diversification of its marketing, technology and creative services, as well as it’s print manufacturing capabilities.
Multi Site-Investment:
In response to growing demand and the expanding needs of its customer base, Pureprint has announced a major multi-site investment with a Litho Press, Folding, Binding, Large Format, Packaging, and finishing equipment added. Both the Uckfield and Newcastle facilities have been reconfigured and upgraded with cutting-edge, technology-driven equipment, boosting productivity and expanding manufacturing capabilities.
Press:
At its Uckfield site, Pureprint is commissioning a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 8-P+L plus coater in its litho plant. This 8-colour press replaces a 4-colour model, offering the flexibility to print 4/4 or straight 8 with coating. This upgrade not only boosts Pureprint’s capacity but also accelerates speed to market.
Books & Magazines:
Building on its reputation for outstanding book and bound print production, Pureprint has introduced several new systems to enhance its offerings. The installation of a Horizon Hard Case Binding Preparation System, coupled with a Horizon BǪ 500 Binder, HT-1000V zero makeready variable trimmer and a near-line Layflat CI550 Casing system, significantly expedites the production of case-bound books and strengthens Pureprint’s layflat capabilities.
These advancements improve product quality and efficiency for volumes ranging from 1 to 5,000 units, accommodating both on-demand and bulk book production.
Additionally, the new Stahlfolder TH-82-P High Speed Folder with shingle feed accelerates the production of folded sections, ensuring faster delivery of magazine and book sections to Pureprint’s existing binding lines.
Packaging:
Following the 2023 acquisition of Screaming Colours' packaging business, Pureprint has significantly bolstered its capacity for luxury box production. The company now produces a wide array of packaging solutions, from luxury product boxes and book slip cases to bespoke, personalised boxes for influencers and PR campaigns. With investments in multiple machines at its Uckfield plant, Pureprint enhances efficiency across low to medium luxury box production runs, complementing its existing high volume Crayford packaging plant and establishing dedicated in-house production lines for the groups expanding packaging offering.
Large Format & Retail:
Imprint, the Group's large format and retail division, expanded its roll-to-roll manufacturing capabilities by installing a state-of-the-art Durst P5 350 HSR D4 at its Newcastle plant as well as ancillary finishing equipment. This 3.5m LED printer significantly boosts the division's capacity to support Out-of-Home (OOH) markets, improving ink efficiency, product quality, and throughput.
