Signs Express (Peterborough) has been named the winner in the Best Vehicle Graphics project in the Sign Excellence Awards held at this year’s Signs Express Convention.  The award-winning project was a van completed for Top Hex – suppliers of theatre products lighting and stage sound.

The client wanted a colourful van graphic that would get noticed and give an immediate connection to the theatre/dance world.  Anne Hitch, owner of Signs Express (Peterborough) and her team designed, supplied and fitted a wrap to the lower section of the van and printed on high quality long lasting vinyl with a matching overlaminate.  Avery 800 series vinyls were used for the text and logos which created the striking visual.

Commenting on winning the prestigious award, Anne Hitch says, “We are thrilled to have been recognised by this award. It has been a busy few months for us and it’s great to have our hard work and achievements celebrated by the group. The graphics for the Top Hex van were printed and fitted in-house and it was great for our staff to be able to get involved with the whole process.”

The Signs Express awards ceremony, hosted this year by Olympic swimmer Mark Foster, was held at Sprowston Manor Hotel, Norwich.  The convention weekend consisted of seminars and a suppliers forum, giving the franchisees from the UK and Ireland a perfect opportunity to catch up with key suppliers, learn about new business initiatives and to have a first look at new products to hit the market.

The awards were independently judged by Val Hirst, Editor of Sign Directions Magazine and David Catanach, Director of the British Signs and Graphics Association (BGSA).  Both judges advised how difficult their job was made by the extremely high standard of entries this year.  Val Hirst, Editor of Sign Directions, commented “Signs Express (Peterborough) picked up this award in respect of its Top Hex vehicle livery.  This appealed because it provided an instant and colourful connection to the world of dance and theatre in an eye-catching and amusing way.”

Based in Saracen Business Park, Signs Express (Peterborough) has been trading since 2002 and specialises in the design and manufacture of full colour digital printing, vehicle graphics, interior and exterior signage, banners, window graphics, exhibition and display graphics, labels and stickers and DDA-compliant heath and safety signage.
