William Smith is thrilled to announce the expansion of their Training Academy with the introduction of the newest course, Kitchen Application Training.
The first course was launched last week and proved to be a huge success. It has been carefully designed with the purpose of training complete beginners and relatively new installers looking to venture into the kitchen wrap market. The market for kitchen wraps has been escalating at an immeasurable pace over the past few years and it’s difficult to ignore the potential that awaits.
Kitchens can pose a whole range of common and uncommon problems for installers to overcome, and so the course content has been carefully selected to expose delegates to all levels of both simple and complex issues found in a kitchen environment.
William Smith’s expert trainers, Gill Harrison and John Raine, Training and Application Managers at William Smith, and Phil Moran, Owner of Wrapture Architectural Wraps, have a wealth of experience between them and will be available every step of the way to assist and advise attendees on the best ways to approach any given situation. William Smith guarantees attendees will leave satisfied with the training they have received, with a whole host of new skills and intuitive ways to assist their approach towards future projects.
The theory section of the course, covered on the first morning of training, includes sections on marketing, budgeting, sustainability, design potential, managing expectations, the dos and don’ts, pros and cons, preparation, primers, and advice on the best tools and accessories to use.
The practical side of the course, which makes up the bulk of training, begins with basic application techniques including flat panels and the cut-and-fold technique, before moving on to more challenging applications such as how to deal with shaker doors and J-handles. Trainers will also demonstrate how to approach a variety of challenging sink applications and the best ways to successfully navigate around them. Worktops, splice joints and repairs will also be covered over the course of the two days.
With small class sizes and three trainers on hand to assist, there will be plenty of time allocated for one-to-one guidance.
Feedback from the first course has been overwhelmingly positive with one attendee stating that “as a complete beginner with no previous wrapping experience, I was slightly concerned about how I might find the course. It was clear right from the start that there was no reason to worry. The instructors were extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful every step of the way. The content was extremely detailed, and all techniques were clearly explained and demonstrated. It has provided me with a lot of confidence going forward and I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone just starting out or looking to improve.”
