HP has partnered with local artist and photographer Henry Reichhold to capture views of the River Thames landscape. The installation, called ‘One Hour’, is on display at London Bridge Station as part of the Totally Thames Festival - an annual celebration of the iconic river.
Working alongside HP and London-based digital printing firm PressOn, Mr. Reichhold captured two kilometres of the Thames - from Tower Bridge to Blackfriars – over a 60-minute period. The stunning views and river-based activity are displayed via two vast panoramic photographs.
Printed by PressOn using the HP Latex Printer L3600, on Papergraphics’ SoftStuff display fabric, the images provide a look at the local area, creating a time-based portrait that captures the energy and activity that makes this dynamic region so exciting. Designed to give the viewer a real sense of the vitality and pace on this busy stretch of the Thames, this project offers a comprehensive visual narrative of the vibrancy of the river and its surrounding areas.
“As the first large-scale photography exhibition to be held in the newly refurbished London Bridge Station, I needed technology that delivered in terms of quality and durability, as well as environmentally. The HP Latex Printer L3600 presented a solution”, commented Mr. Reichhold. “As an artist, I’m always looking for new and innovative ways of doing things without compromising on standards. Working alongside HP meant I had the tools required to do just this and bring this art installation to life.”
“HP Latex technologies unlock new opportunities for print service providers, from smarter printing for increased productivity, to extreme colour definition,” said Phil Oakley, HP Regional Business Manager, UK&I. “Our water-based HP Latex Inks, certified for low chemical emissions to reduce environmental impact, also enable our customers to operate sustainably without comprising on quality.”
