As first time exhibitors at Northprint, Mimaki’s exclusive distributor, Hybrid Services Ltd, enjoyed a very useful three days meeting not only the commercial print sector but many other important contacts too. The revitalised Harrogate based show saw Hybrid take a sizeable stand in one of the main halls along with a presence in the Wide Format Application Showcase, allowing visitors to get an excellent idea of the many and varied opportunities available from a Mimaki printer.
In addition to the core commercial print market, Hybrid’s marketing manager, Duncan Jefferies, recounted a series of prospective customers visiting the stand from a varied range of industries. “Northprint was very worthwhile for Hybrid,” he said, “with companies visiting the stand from the manufacturing sector, promotional companies; even organisations with some very interesting industrial applications.”
“The exhibition proved very productive for us,” he continued, “as it gave Hybrid an excellent opportunity to promote Mimaki’s broad range of solutions to new customers.”
Hybrid showed two core Mimaki products at the exhibition; the flatbed A3 format, UJF-3042 printer; capable of producing a high quality print onto almost any material. With vibrant process colour output allied to an opaque white and clear varnish, the creative potential for the machine is huge and the breadth of applications shown on both of Hybrid’s stands demonstrated this. From pens to phone covers, photo blocks to golf balls, the list is almost endless and certainly appeared to inspire visitors to the exhibition.
“We were very pleased with the visitors consistently being keen to think beyond the ordinary and see how they could create new revenue streams for their businesses,” remarked Jefferies. “The primary reason for taking two such creative machines to Northprint was exactly this and we weren’t disappointed by the response!”
The second of the two machines on Hybrid’s stand was the largest of Mimaki’s CJV30 Series outdoor durable printer / cutters. Available in four sizes from 60cm print width up to 1.6m, the latter attracted considerable attention with its vibrant colour, variable data print capability and seamless print and die-cut workflow.
Jefferies concluded; “The presence of the Mimaki CJV30 on the stand resulted in considerable enquiries for us and it seemed easy for visitors to grasp how this solution could very simply create new profit areas for their company.”
