Serigrafia, co-located with SIGN and FutureTEXTIL, the largest sign, screen and digital imaging show in South America, achieved its broadest ever reach under the new ownership of Informa Exhibitions Brasil LTDA. Taking place at the Expo Center Norte Exhibition Centre in Sao Paulo, Brazil from 20th to 23rd July, the exhibition attracted 450 exhibitors and over 45,000 visitors from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and a number of Central American countries. This represents an increase in visitor numbers of over 11% from the exhibition in 2010, giving an indication of the ongoing growth and success of the event.
Trevor Crawford, Director of the print group at Informa Exhibitions, commented: “The increase in visitor numbers at this year’s Serigrafia, SIGN and FutureTEXTIL demonstrates both the strength of the Latin American market and the trust that visitors and exhibitors alike place in the IPEX brand. We believe that the success of this year’s show places us in an even stronger position to ensure the long term development of the show and to provide exhibitors and visitors from the wide format, signage, digital imaging and textile sectors throughout Latin American with an unrivalled wide format exhibition experience.”
The range of products on show was a testament to the broad appeal of the exhibition. On the Océ stand for instance, solutions for applications including POS, banners, decorations, as well as solutions aimed at the corporate, architectural, engineering and construction sectors were on show. Commenting on SIGN 2011, which is co-located with Serigrafia, Eduardo Petroni, Managing Director, Océ Latin America says: “SIGN 2011 was essential to the company, contributing significantly to sales. We met many important leads and customers on our stand, exchanging information and discussing market trends with them.”
Edissa Furlan, Marketing Manager of Graphic Arts, HP comments: “We use SIGN to launch products because it attracts a vibrant public, eager for graphic arts news. This four day event was very important to us because of the new business opportunities it offered.”
Many exhibitors commented on the success of the event at generating new sales leads and cementing relationships with existing customers, with some already having committed to exhibit at the event in 2012.
Friedrich Goldner, Director of Marketing & New Business Development, Marabu GmbH & Co. KG is one such exhibitor. He comments: “We have exhibited at Serigrafia many times, but this one has without a doubt been the most successful ever for us. Stand traffic was impressive as we not only had an all time high of Brazilian visitors, but also significant increases in the number of attendees from Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Central American countries. Our product novelties, such asthe new sublimation ink Texajet DX-SHE, the mild solvent ink Marajet DI-LS andour UV screen printingink for glass Ultraglass UVGL were very well received and created a lot of interest.”
Isoliner Managing Partner, Jairo Pinto says: “The 2011 exhibition surpassed that in 2010. The event is very important for the sector because sales increase every year. We are very satisfied with the event and will certainly participate again in 2012.”
