3M and EFI have launched a new co-branded UV ink for use with the VUTEk GS5000r printer from EFI. This ink is covered by the industry-leading 3M™ MCS™ Warranty, giving EFI customers an extended range of applications offered by 3M materials with the assurance of the warranty.
“The VUTEk GS5000r five-meter digital printer is an eight-color printer with fantastic 1000 dpi quality. And by running the 3M ink, which sets a new standard in adhesion and color gamut, our graphics produced on this printer will now carry the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty," said Mark Auth, president, Vomela Specialty Company.
3M and EFI have also announced a new co-branded UV ink for use in the VUTEk GS2000 and GS3200 printers from EFI. This ink will also be backed by the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty, and will be commercially available in Q2.

The 3M™ MCS™ Warranty covers defects in the appearance of finished graphics for up to four years outdoors, including discoloration, fading, cracking, peeling, and other defects that make the graphics unsuitable for their intended purpose and up to five years for vehicle graphics. These inks also come with an extended shelf life of 15 months. The new inks match the high standards of the current EFI ink set in terms of adhesion and color gamut, and are highly flexible with noticeably lower odor than other UV inks.
