Art Bloc, one of the first UK companies to specialise primarily in the wholesale supply of inkjet canvas and stretcher bars for canvas frames, has launched a fine art canvas for solvent and eco-solvent printers at Sign & Digital.
Demand for printing on Canvas in the UK is growing by the day. ArtBloc sales director Jack O’Donoghue has seen a steady increase in demand for Inkjet Canvas from print shops who rely on perhaps a single machine for all of their large format work. Often these machines are Mimaki, Mutoh or Roland mild solvent and eco-solvent printers. As proficient as these machines are at adapting to most media, ArtBloc has realised that many owner managers have been happy to accept slightly “below average” results by using canvas that was primarily designed for printers such as Epson, Canon and HP.
ArtBloc’s new “Fine Art Solvent Canvas” can now produce photographic and fine art results on canvas that is crisp and vibrant. This was previously only achieved through pigment-based aqueous ink sets. Free samples of the new canvas are available on Art Bloc’s stand K50 at Sign & Digital 2011.
Available in all popular roll widths, the canvas is priced well below comparable branded alternatives because ArtBloc understands that printing on canvas is not a core part of many printers usual business. By offering a value for money premium canvas, many solvent and eco-solvent print shops can now produce excellent results and increase margins to further maximise on their machine’s capability.
