3M has been selected by Spandex to showcase its graphic films at The Print Show.

Spandex (Stand E03) will demonstrate the highly versatile, non-PVC Envision Print Film 48 and Envision Print Wrap Film 480CV3, the popular 3M Wrap Film Series 1080 and 3M Wrap Film Series 1380, and DI-NOC Architectural Finishes from 3M, allowing sign makers, wrappers, shop fitters and graphics producers to experience the latest solutions for vehicle graphics, signage and architectural designs.

At The Print Show 2016, Spandex will have a large stand covering 168 square metres, including a wrapping area that will feature film products from 3M only. “This is our first year at The Print Show and we are very excited to be headlining with the latest ranges of wrapping, sign and decorative films from 3M. As a company we are always looking ahead and the latest films from 3M is in line with our strategy,” said, Leon Watson, UK general manager, Spandex.

Visitors to the stand will be able to experience first-hand the high performance and versatility of films available from 3M. The Envision Print Film 48 and Envision Print Wrap Film 480CV3 from 3M are compatible with all printers, UV, Solvent and Latex, and are non-PVC for a sustainable edge at an affordable price. These highly conformable films combine excellent print quality with ease of use for a wide range of applications including indoor and outdoor signs, walls, doors and floors, and vehicle wraps.

The 3M Wrap Film Series 1080 is a long-term, dual-layer premium cast film with a 90 micron thickness that provides excellent opacity to hide high-contrast surfaces. More than 80 exciting and distinctive colours are available in a variety of finishes including gloss, matte, metallic, satin, carbon fibre and brushed metal effects. The extra wide rolls of 1.52m allow applicators to quickly cover entire vehicle panels without joins or seams.

The 3M Wrap Film Series 1380 provides vehicle wrappers with outstanding conformability that enables application to deeply recessed areas without requiring cutting or inlays. The film has been constructed with an additional white layer, increasing the opacity to improve the colour brilliance and prevent the substrate colour from showing through. A durable transparent top coat gives added protection and resistance against the weather and scratches whilst enhancing the overall appearance.

The self-adhesive DI-NOC Architectural Finishes from 3M offer a durable and cost effective solution for creating aesthetically pleasing environments without the expense of replacing fixtures or fittings. With patterns and effects including wood, metal, textile, stucco, ceramic, stone and leather, DI-NOC Architectural Finishes can be used to express corporate styles, modernise appearances and optimise interior and exterior assets for refurbishment and new construction. The films’ flexibility to conform to flat and curved surfaces gives fast and easy installation with minimal error and waste, allowing sophisticated designs to be applied with little disruption.

All the films incorporate innovative pressure-activated Controltac Graphic Film with Comply Adhesive Technology by 3M. Controltac Technology contains microscopic glass beads which lie on the surface of the adhesive enabling the film to be repositioned on the substrate until the exact positioning is achieved. As soon as firm pressure is applied, the glass beads are pushed into the adhesive, allowing for an instant bond. Comply Adhesive Technology by 3M comprises a network of non-visible air release channels that allow air to be dispersed from underneath the film to ensure a smooth and bubble free application.

Representatives from Spandex and 3M will be available throughout the show to demonstrate the latest solutions available to the ever-evolving print market.
