Alongside the Olympian athletes’ success, The Felix Schoeller Group also achieved some outstanding performances in Sochi. As premium paper partner of the German Olympic team, the Osnabrück-based manufacturer of specialty papers brought numerous products to Sochi to convey the special Olympic atmosphere. A total of 7,000 up-to-the-minute photo prints were produced, 6,000 greeting cards sent and 100 exclusive canvas prints created each day and hung in prominent positions in the German House – all in all, an extraordinary feat of logistics and service provision.
The marketing team headed up by Florian Murrmann, Senior Vice President Marketing with the Felix Schoeller Group, had selected a broad range of premium papers to represent the company and its brand promise “Best Performing Papers. Worldwide.” at the Olympics. Schoeller produced 7,000 photo prints for visitors and athletes on the minilab printer that had been set up in the German House. They were printed on a special range of photo paper for minilab inkjet prints with glossy, satin, lustre, and metallic finishes and an embossed pyramid finish. Exclusive fine art papers were also used.
The Felix Schoeller Group’s quality paper for digital printing – Silver Digital – was used for the 6,000 greetings cards that were sent home from Sochi. Large-format pictures of the highlights of the day were printed and shared daily on Schoeller’s Magic Moments wall. 100 motifs of the magnificent wall decoration were produced on papers of the new Canvas Collection, which Schoeller launched to coincide with the Olympics. Inkjet decor papers came into their own on the laminate flooring of the foyer of the German House and on the laminate panels of the bar. Since The Felix Schoeller Group’s IJ-DEKOR® papers are ideal for producing high-resolution prints, the floor of the foyer pictured a spectacular ice hockey pitch, and wintry motifs laminated onto panels decorated the front of the bar.
