Neschen partners with Expolinc at Sign & Digital UK 2011

Together with display systems from its Swedish partner, Expolinc, Neschen will be exhibiting a comprehensive range of matching print media, including protective films at Sign & Digital UK 2011.

The entire product range available for pop-ups, roll-ups, L banners and light boxes offers everything from premium quality to the cost-effective economy variants.  Neschen also includes a 'green' solution in its range of print media and protective films, based on polypropylene (PP) in place of more traditional PVC, for environmentally-aware appearances.  (PP is a plastic that consists solely of two elements - carbon and hydrogen.)   "Users can get the right combination every time – for every display system and every application", explained Sarah Janes, Managing Director of Neschen UK.  "And, as the market today increasingly demands 'green' products, PVC-free materials are of course now available from us, right up to the appropriate protective films."

Some innovations in the Display Graphic Solutions (DGS) provided by Neschen include a range of media for the cost-effective, compact roll-up entry level model from Expolinc.  These print media include: solvoprint/printlux nolite 360 - a heavy, silver-backed, light-blocking medium for water-based inks delivering high colour brilliance and good scratch-resistant properties; solvoprint/ printlux PP nolite 210 - a matte polypropylene film with special inkjet coating that has almost no side curl and is suitable for outdoor use; solvoprint/printlux nolite 165 - a PET compound which is also treated with a special inkjet coating and is especially suited to Roll-Up and 4Screen display systems and solvoprint/printlux citylight superior - a universal 'frontprint' polyester film suitable for backlit displays both indoors and outdoors offering photo-realistic print quality and good dimensional stability.

In addition, Neschen will be showcasing its recent textile additions - DYEtex flag 110 B1, DYEtex display 220 B1 and VARItex decoframe 250 B1 CA.  DYEtex flag and DYEtex display are pure sublimation media for flags/banners and display systems, available with attractive prices and volume discounts.

The particular highlight amongst these three 'Made in Germany' products is the multifunctional capability of the polyester textile VARItex decoframe.  A novel coating permits other modern inkjet printing processes to be used without detriment to the look and feel of the textile itself.  The colours remain bright, vibrant and brilliant.

Colorific Ink combines with Tech8’s service to provide comfort factor for new users

Tech8 Warranty Cover for Colorific Ink

Owners of established printing machines wanting to swap to after-market inks can now make the move to Colorific’s high quality family of solvent-based products without having the worry of making the change-over. In conjunction with Tech8, all customers opting for the ink supplier’s low-cost yet superior alternatives to original formulations can now have the transition taken care of by specially trained engineers, with the knowledge that full installation and ongoing support will be provided.

Colorific’s growing ink families offer cost-effective compatibility with Roland, Seiko I Infotech, Mimaki, Mutoh and HP Designjet 9000 wide-format machines. Many existing printer models can be changed to Colorific on the fly, and this max and match ability means that no flushing out or special treatment is needed before switching brands.

“Colorific’s quality, reliability and price quash the negative rumours that constantly abound about alternative ink options, but we appreciate that some companies are still nervous about making the transition,” explains Shaun Holdom, business manager for Colorific at IGS UK. “This is why we’re offering the services of a team of experienced technical engineers who can make the change-over, giving printer users a built-in comfort factor.

“In today’s continuing tough economy no-one wants to experience down-time when moving to a third-party ink supplier, and our products are guaranteed and warranted accordingly,” Holdom continues. “Changing to Colorific also means that many older printing machines don’t need to be retired simply because their original inks are no longer available. We can add years of life expectancy and productivity onto this equipment.”

In order for inks to comply with Colorific’s strict quality criteria, all products are tested for reliability, compatibility, colour gamut and accuracy across different machines and materials. Users of these products can also benefit from the Colourgreen initiative which is designed to simplify the legal implications of working with solvent-based chemistries by offering a free recycling service.

MACtac changes standard roll size for IMAGin® JT5828HTO high-tack media

MACtac Graphic Products announces the addition of IMAGin® JT5828HTO, an intermediate high-tack media, to its floor graphics product portfolio. IMAGin JT5828HTO is an easy-to-print, white opaque digital vinyl commonly used for short-term promotions and indoor or outdoor advertising, including tri-vision or flat billboards and other flat or slightly curved surfaces. Designed to bond well and cleanly remove from its intended applications, IMAGin JT5828HTO is ideal for short-napped commercial carpet applications.

As a new addition to the floor graphics media portfolio, the roll size of IMAGin JT5828HTO is changing to 54 inches by 164 feet, from the current 60-inch by 328-foot and 164-foot rolls, to better match the specifications of MACtac’s floor graphics laminates.

“Now part of MACtac’s floor graphics media solutions, IMAGin JT5828HTO is an excellent carpet graphics media, although it is still strongly recommended for low-surface energy substrates,” stated Mary Ann Kucera, marketing manager, MACtac Graphic Products. “The new width better matches our PERMACOLOR® floor graphics laminates IP6200, PF6300, PF6400, and PF6500,” Kucera added.

MACtac’s IMAGin JT5828HTO is a 3.7-mil matte white, soft-calendered PVC film. Featuring an 86# kraft liner, it offers a high-tack, permanent, opaque acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. IMAGin JT5828HTO is intended for wide-format, eco-solvent, solvent-based, and UV-cured inkjet printing.

The current roll size of IMAGin JT5828HTO will be discontinued and inventory transitioned to the 54-inch by 164-foot rolls in late February.

INX International to feature EVOLVE, new ink at LatinCan

Many of those attending the upcoming 16th LatinCan Conference in Brazil will likely be getting their first exposure to INX International Ink Co.'s highly successful  EVOLVE Advanced Digital Solutions.  Supporting this popular concept will be a preview of the new TP UV Fusion, the first UV hybrid low migration inks available in the market for 3-piece metal decorating.  The Conference is being held February 16-18 at the Sheraton Resort & Hotel in Rio de Janeiro.

EVOLVE (www.inxevolve.com) was introduced in 2010 to help traditional printers and converters evolve to digital printing with industrial inkjet systems.  Digital technologies such as the CP100 UV cylindrical printer, the new MD1000 UV flatbed printer, and the NW100 narrow web press for short-run digital prototype packaging and production, help expand portfolios by providing new capabilities to develop niche markets.  EVOLVE's wide array of high quality products include customised inks and coating solutions for every type of digital printer and print-head technology, ranging from solvent, UV-curable and UV LED-curable, to aqueous and thermal and oil piezo inks.

The TP UV Fusion hybrid inks are specifically formulated for indirect food packaging applications that call for low migration and low odour inks.  Conforming to Nestle requirements for packaging inks, these unique inks are environmentally friendly without VOC solvents, are ITX and Benzophenone free and qualify for the Soy Ink Seal.  With exceptional adhesion to a wide variety of base coated metal substrates, UV Fusion has excellent press stability and color balance that is comparable to the best conventional litho inks on the market.
