The Meliora Group are the only manufacturers in the UK to possess HP presses that can produce packaging, labels, and commercial print.
The Kent based company desired an upgrade on their existing HP Indigo following the expiry of its lease. This meant that Delga could invest in the latest Indigo 15K which, since installation, has given the organisation increased flexibility due to the wider substrate weight configuration, further enhancing their offering.
Delga are continuously looking to evolve and push the boundaries within digital packaging, labels, and commercial printing due to the array of commissions and customers they hold, looking for the most innovative and highest quality digital printing option.
Delga has recently been selected as a finalist in the Digital Labels & Packaging Awards 2024. The project was entered as an example of variable data printing for the benefit of the brand and its customers. The cartons were produced for a well-established UK supplement brand. This requirement of multiple SKUs, of varying quantities, with variable data, lends itself perfectly to digital print production. The brand was keen to maintain the high quality of their previously Litho-produced cartons and the HP Indigo Digital Press at Delga fulfilled that requirement.
The Indigo 15K is the next generation, market-winning digital press, leveraging the groundbreaking technology of the world’s best-selling B2 digital press. Multiple jobs can all be managed with a single press—from general commercial print applications to high end photo printing and folding cartons. A quality finish is guaranteed each time with the Indigo 15K thanks to the 7 ink stations built within offering unlimited colour combinations, featuring 14 application-specific inks and unlimited spot colours.
The installation of the Indigo 15K has ensured that Delga can now print material lower than 130gsm in B2 format, with their digital print capabilities significantly enhanced. With the capability to print in B3 and B2 format, on up to 600 micron folding box board, and l labels, means that that the Rochester based company truly are a one stop shop for high quality, multi SKU printing.
Ian Conetta, Managing Director at Delga, commented, “Our relationship with HP has continued to thrive and develop over the years. This installation means that we have now taken nine HP printing presses in total as an organisation”.
“There is no comparison to the quality, that is a given – but the support mechanism behind that quality is quite unique. That has enabled our business to stay ahead of the curve in delivering a USP to our customer base that is unrivalled”.
The HP Indigo range enables partners to save energy throughout the printing process thanks to the Indigo’s unique proprietary Liquid Electrophotography (LEP) technology, that ensures a high ink coverage job with low energy consumption. HP Indigo presses are also equipped with advanced energy recovery mechanisms such as regenerative braking and an advanced heat recovery system.
