There may have been ice and snow outside, but the AG/CAD DYSS stand at Packaging Innovations was Red Hot!
AG/CAD demonstrated an integrated superfast DYSS X5 Digital Cutter, Auto Sheet feeder and KASEMAKE software solution for design, sampling, prototyping and short run production, to crowds of show visitors over the two days and had a very successful show. So successful that AG/CAD signed up for next year’s stand before this year’s show had even finished!
The exceptional speed of the lightweight head on the X5 digital cutter wowed onlookers, who were also impressed by the speed, simplicity and accuracy of the automated sheet feeder, an optional add on that turns the X5 from a sample making machine into a 24/7 capable production cutter, perfect for short runs of bespoke cartons and boxes.
The highly configurable system comprises an X5 flatbed digital cutter with two quick-change tool slots and a wide range of reciprocating and static cutting tools, V notch cutters and creasing wheels. A more recent addition to the tool line up is an innovative corrugated creaser that gives superb, well-defined creasing while minimising bursting of liners.
The X5 at the show was fitted with an optional automatic sheet feeder. This allows a single or double stack of board to be loaded and automatically fed onto the machine to be cut and offloaded. With the growth in demand for bespoke, plain or printed short runs, the sheet feeder is a perfect option to help deliver automated 24/7 production.
Also on display was AG/CAD's powerful KASEMAKE Vision control software for the DYSS X5. This handles a large range of industry-standard vector file formats and prepares each job for processing on the cutter. For digitally printed jobs, RIP compatibility makes the process streamlined, quick and simple.
The intelligent camera option on the X5 provides consistent, accurate cutting of printed jobs and its clever edge recognition technology even ensures precise cutting of materials like corrugated that are typically cut from the back face.
The KASEMAKE software also includes a vast library of corrugated and folding boxboard templates, plus POS/POP displays and many others. Each design is parametrically controlled allowing simple and fast adjustment to specific sizes and configurations, and to suit different materials.
An impressive 3D feature in the software allows the final product to be visualised in 3D whether for internal checking, as a sales tool, or even for customer approval. The X5 combined with K-CUT Vision PRO software makes going from concept to design, to virtual 3D mock-up, to sample or production quick, simple and efficient.
