British cutting machine manufacturer Blackman & White will be launching its award-winning Versa Tech 2 into Europe at FESPA.
The ground-breaking Versa Tech 2 won 2016 SGIA Product of the Year Award for Finishing-Routers/Cutters, and was developed together with leading US print finishing solutions provider MCT digital.
The Versa Tech 2 offers unprecedented flexibility as it can be fitted with a number of tools - including a driven rotary cutter, tangential drag knife, oscillating knife, kiss-cutting tool, pen plotting, angle-V cutting, crease tool, 100w CO2 laser and a 5kw water-cooled router.
It also boasts a strengthened beam and improved rack and pinion drive system allowing it to move at an impressive acceleration of 1.25g and speeds of 2000mm/second.
Its workflow features include Tiger Pack and Tilia Griffin for Tiger Vision as well as PDF and integration with leading RIP manufacturers for print, and Tiger Vision for cutting.
MD Alex White said: “The Versa Tech 2 is simply the only all-in-one finishing system for today’s growing, fast paced wide format print industry. It can handle more intricate patterns than any other router or knife can achieve and its tighter job nesting reduces waste – directly improving our customers’ bottom line.
“It offers 8-12 times the throughput and productivity compared to manual hot knife cutting of textiles and as the laser seals the cut edges this also reduces costs on additional finishing such as sewing.
“We expect customers to be able to get full ROI in under a year or as little as 4-6 months in a multiple shift operation.
“The Versa Tech 2 also operates at speeds when using the laser that allow it to keep up with multiple printers, so finishing should no longer cause a production bottleneck.
“We’re incredibly proud of this new machine and look forward to showcasing its abilities to visitors at FESPA.”
