British cutting machine manufacturer Blackman & White will be headlining its laser /router/knife technology at Sign & Digital UK on 28-30 March, in a year that has seen record sales of its VersaTech all-in-one finishing system for cutting multiple types of media, from textiles to acrylic and packaging.
MD Alex White said: "Production companies in the UK have not been deterred by ‘Brexit' uncertainties - we have seen their resilience and belief in the future as they continue to invest in future-proofing their businesses.
"The UK should be assured from the latest government statistics that manufacturing will increase and overseas investment into the UK will expand. As a UK manufacturer ourselves, we have also continued to invest in new technology and ways to improve our manufacturing efficiencies.
"The UK has a bright and strong future ahead and is an excellent manufacturing hub linking relatively low labour costs with advanced infrastructure and government incentives such as research and development support and low corporation tax.
"But we all have to keep on our toes and not take anything for granted - we need to continue reaching for ever higher standards of technical excellence."
Blackman & White are renowned for their continuous investment in new hardware and software developments. Their Griffin workflow and Tiger Pack software are some of the solutions in workflow automation that will be demonstrated at Sign & Graphics.
"Clients developing packaging and display are asking for increasingly creative solutions in a drive to offer eye catching, unique products," added Alex. "As our bespoke Tiger Pack works directly in Adobe Illustrator, there's no limit to what can be designed and manufactured."
Also demonstrated at the show will be Blackman & White's latest image recognition software that uses state of the art camera technology with advanced distortion control to produce a high speed, accurate solution for sign and print cutting and registration.
Other new developments being demonstrated at Sign & Digital will include:
• NEW electric oscillating knife
• NEW updated dual roller for laser/ textiles. An improved changeover from knife to laser makes it much easier to swap mediums for increased flexibility of use.
• NEW 60mm (large diameter) creasing wheel, enabling users to crease all media board types, including corrugated material) for increased diversification of bespoke packaging and designs.
