Your Print Specialists (YPS) has announced the immediate availability of the new Poseidon textile printer from South Korean manufacturer, Digital Graphics Inc (DGI).
This 1.6metre wide dye-sublimation transfer printer has production speeds of 80 -120m2 per hour. The company has also launched an enhanced version of the printer, which incorporates an additional printhead.
The new printers form a key component of YPS’ textile offering and positions them as one of the key providers of large format digital printing solutions to the textile market. Sales Director, Georgia Brown, explains, “What’s happening in the textile market is really exciting. The possibilities for end users has never been so extensive and YPS is focused on identifying and supplying a broad range of top quality products. We are now working with DGI’s UK distributor, Sabur Inks, and we have identified that the quality, reliability and capabilities of their printers are exactly what our customers are looking for. We are delighted to introduce these latest printers, which further improves the speed and production benefits of the solutions we can offer.”
The new DGI Poseidon printer utilises industrial Kyocera printheads that DGI also uses in their HSFT III & FH-3204 3.2metre wide sublimation printers. This proven and reliable technology enables the printer to have up to a 118% speed increase over the previous model, the DGI FT-1608.
Brown adds, “The Poseidon is designed for customers working in a high production environment, often requiring unattended printing. It comes with the DGI monitoring app, which allows the user to monitor production remotely and keep a track on print volumes and costings at the touch of a button on their mobile device. This printer is targeted at mid to high level production companies who need a high volume of capacity. I have seen this printer running and it provides the added reliability our customers always look for together with the flexibility to run multiple printers for different designs.”
An additional “SE” model in the range has an additional printhead to enable customers to install spot colours or fluorescent inks alongside CMYK whilst maintaining the very high speeds (offering production speeds of 120m2 per hour) and widening the applications this printer can be used for.
Joe Preddy, Marketing Manager for Sabur Inks, the UK and Ireland’s exclusive distributor of DGI printers, adds, “We have an excellent working relationship with YPS, who we regard as a key partner for us. They have an excellent understanding of the textile market and the ability to deliver solutions to meet the specific demands of a broad range of end users. They always aim to ensure customers select the best possible printer for their requirements and deliver professional and comprehensive support to ensure the investment is successful.”
Georgia Brown concludes, “Later in the year a mini jumbo roll unit will be available to offer companies even more flexibility with the ability to load 2,500 linear metres of transfer sublimation paper. We will also be offering a range of textile substrates, inks and other peripheral devices to ensure customers can enjoy a new DGI printer as part of a broader textile printing solution. With so much that is new on offer, we think it is vital that customers can talk with a supplier that understands their business and can recommend the best possible solution for their needs.”
