Chatham-based PressOn began working with Sherbet Media, a specialist in advertising on London taxis, back in the spring of 2017. The partnership was formed to focus on creating striking, durable liveries to capture attention and make a lasting impression, helping boost the brand visibility and engagement of Sherbet Media’s clients.
“Sherbet Media recognised the effectiveness of high-visibility advertising on taxis, which travel across busy urban areas and reach a diverse audience,” PressOn Managing Director Andy Wilson said.
Over the years, PressOn and Sherbet Media have worked together on print-based projects for high-end clients such as Pretty Little Thing, Boss and De Beers. PressOn has used HP Latex printers to produce the graphics and wraps for these collaborations, namely its HP Latex 3600 and HP Latex 3500 machines.
The HP Latex 3600 features a 3.2m roll width, can print in seven colours and has a top production speed of up to 120sq m/hr in outdoor mode. Meanwhile, the HP Latex 3500 can also print in up to seven colours, at a resolution as high as 1200 x 1200dpi, on materials up to 80mm thick.
“The HP Latex 3500, purchased in August 2015, and the HP Latex 3600, acquired in July 2018, have both been crucial in producing the high-quality graphics required for the taxi wraps,” Andy said. “These printers are well-known for their ability to print on wide rolls with precision and vibrant colour reproduction.
“The high-quality prints and durable materials ensure that the taxi liveries not only meet but exceed expectations in terms of appearance and performance.”
Such has been the success of the partnership over the years that Sherbet Media has continued to work with PressOn on all manner of projects. This was also part of the reason that PressOn this year launched PressOn Automotive, a spin-off business focused on the vehicle wraps and graphics market.
“Sherbet Media has continued to work with us, updating the creative designs and placing additional orders for a large refresh of the liveries,” Andy said. “This ongoing collaboration underscores the positive reception and effectiveness of the project.”
In addition to the HP Latex 3500 and 3600, PressOn also operates two HP R2000 Series printers . These were purchased in 2019 and 2022 and represent the latest generation of flexible hybrid printers from HP. The Latex R2000 series can print on both rigid and flexible materials with a bed width of 2.48m, while users also benefit from printing dense and glossy white.
In addition, PressOn is now running an HP Latex 630W at PressOn Automotive, which complements its wider collection of high-performance printers from the HP Latex range.
