Two new additions to Mutoh’s popular ValueJet Eco Ultra printer lineup announced

Mutoh Belgium announces the EMEA launch of two new additions to Mutoh’s popular ValueJet Eco Ultra printer lineup, the ValueJet 1324 54” and the ValueJet 1624 64”.

These new 4 colour ValueJet printer models incorporate a new 1440 dpi piezo drop-on-demand print head. Tuned to Mutoh’s award-winning Intelligent Interweaving print technology, this new print head will enable increased print speeds as well as improved print quality at higher print speeds. Apart from new print head technology, the new printers also incorporate a set of innovative features, such as a newly developed keyboard and an automatic sheet off mechanism. The new ValueJets will deliver a high level of user comfort and print production efficiency.

Utilising Mutoh’s Eco Ultra inks, the new ValueJet 1324 and 1624 printers are targeted at the sign and display market and are suited for the production of outdoor posters, signs and banners, long term backlit signage, construction announcements, POS displays, vehicle graphics as well as high quality durable prints for indoor use.

The new ValueJet 1324 (VJ-1324) and 1624 (VJ-1624) printers are an addition to Mutoh’s existing ValueJet 1204 (51” – 1300 mm), ValueJet 1304 (54” – 1371 mm) and ValueJet 1614 (64” – 1625 mm) Eco Ultra printers.

New Print Head Technology for Increased Performance & Quality

The new ValueJet 1324 & ValueJet 1624 CMYK printers incorporate a new generation “wide” 1440 nozzle piezo drop-on-demand print head. Each colour section incorporates 360 nozzles, i.e. two 180 nozzle rows per colour.

The head is capable of producing ink drops ranging from 3.5 pl to 35 pl. Bottom line, it can produce a wider range of ink dots, which are moreover jetted at a faster speed. This will give faster output speeds and moreover a better print quality at higher output speeds.

The print head offers the four regular ValueJet print resolutions 540 x 720 dpi, 720 x 720 dpi, 1440 x 720 dpi and 1440 x 1440 dpi as well as a new 720 x 1080 dpi print resolution.  The new 720 x 1080 dpi resolution will deliver impeccable prints for viewing distances under 1 meter up to 10 m²/h (VJ-1624) and 8 m²/h (VJ-1324).

Typical speed production prints at 720 x 720 dpi (4 pass) are delivered at 14.5 m²/h (VJ-1624) and 11.8 m²/h (VJ-1324).

The VJ-1624’s top speed amounts to 29 m²/h. For the VJ-1324, top speed is 27.9 m²/h.

Mutoh Intelligent Interweaving Print Technology

The new ValueJet printers include Mutoh’s award-winning Intelligent Interweaving (i²) print technology, enabling a drastic reduction or even total elimination of the typical difficulties inherent to conventional digital inkjet printing, such as horizontal banding, step mismatch banding and the visible effects of missing or misfiring nozzles.

One of the biggest benefits of this proprietary Mutoh print technology is that it offers predictable and repeatable output quality, as such bringing an unprecedented level of user comfort to the printer operator. Printer users will be able to print ideal quality images fit for purpose every time, in the shortest possible time.

New Comfort Features

The already well-known ease-of-use of the ValueJet printer family has been further optimised in the new 1324/1624 ValueJet models, with i.a. a newly designed keyboard offering easy & logical access to printer menus and an automatic cutting function to cut off finished prints.

On the VJ-1324 an L-shaped cover has been integrated to enable easy access for periodical maintenance. The VJ-1624 printer has a tiltable ink cassette holder which will save space and enables loading of different ink cassette volumes.

Optional Spectrophotometer

The new ValueJet printer models can be equipped with Mutoh’s optional SpectroVue VM- 10 spectrophotometer. Directly attachable to the print head carriage or shuttle of the printer, the VM-10 allows monitoring colour drift over time, from job-to-job or even within a large job. The VM-10 can also be used to build ICC colour profiles and linearization files, in combination with supporting software.Eco Ultra Inks for Durable Prints Utilising Mutoh’s Eco Ultra inks, the ValueJet printers can be used for printing onto a wide variety of popular uncoated vinyl and banner media. Prints made with the Mutoh Eco Ultra inks are UV and water resistant for up to three years outdoors, without lamination.

For fleet, floor graphics or other applications where prints are exposed to intensive mechanical stress or abrasion, lamination is recommended.

For the VJ-1324, the ink comes in 220 ml ink cassettes. The VJ-1624 is compatible with either 220 ml or 440 ml ink cassettes. Mutoh Eco Ultra inks do not spread any harmful VOCs in the working environment. There is no need for forced ventilation. The inks also do not need any additional drying
equipment, as the ValueJet printers incorporate three built-in digitally controlled heating elements for media pre-heating, ink fixation and drying.

Ready for Volume Production

The standard ValueJet 1324 & 1624 printer incorporates a set of scroller supports mounted at the back of the machine. These supports enable non-motorised unwinding of media (2” or 3” core) up to a weight of 19 kg (VJ-1324) or 30 kg (VJ-1624).

For the ValueJet 1324, Mutoh offers an optional winder system enabling motorized roll up of finished prints up to 30 kg (T-Winder 30).

For roll-up of prints on the ValueJet 1624, two different optional unwinder/winder systems are available : the T-Winder 30 take-up unit for media rolls up to 30 kg and the Unwinder/Winder 100 system with tension mechanism for motorised unwinding/winding of media rolls up to 100 kg.

Made in Japan, the new ValueJet 1324/1624 printers will be showcased at all major sign industry events throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa during the next coming weeks and months. The new printer models will become available from October onwards.

Mutoh to present ValueJet TD series of soft signage printers at ITMA 2011

Mutoh will present the ValueJet TD series of wide format digital inkjet printers at ITMA 2011 (Barcelona, Spain, September 22-29, 2011), the world's largest textile and garment machinery exhibition.  Exhibiting in Hall 7, C122, Mutoh will present the all new ValueJet 1628TD – 64” (162 cm) and ValueJet 2628TD – 104” (264 cm) which print on both open and closed structure fabric and on dye sublimation paper.  The new engines are suited for producers of soft signage, garment/apparel and industrial applications, such as home furnishings.

The new 8 channel ValueJet TD printers incorporate two new generation 1440 nozzle piezo drop-on-demand print heads.  Each head has 4 colour sections, with 360 nozzles per section.  Tuned to Mutoh’s proprietary Intelligent Interweaving print technology, the ValueJet TD printers allow typical production speeds up to 24 m²/h.  This makes the machines suited for volume printing as well as for customised one-off projects.  Top engine speeds up to 41 m²/h can be obtained.

Setup for direct-to-fabric printing, the ValueJet TD can print on non-stretch fabrics with open or closed structure (display fabric, flags, decoration textiles etc).  This is made possible by the incorporated ink gutter positioned under the printing path, which collects all the ink that is not absorbed by the fabric.  The ValueJet TD can also be used for sublimation printing onto transfer paper.

The printers utilise Mutoh’s worry-free water-based direct disperse inks (for direct-to-fabric printing) or Mutoh’s high-speed dye sublimation inks (for transfer paper printing), available in bulk 1 litre bottles.  The printers are ready for connection to Mutoh’s continuous ink delivery system.  No forced ventilation is required when using these inks as there are no harmful VOCs that permeate the working environment.

Unattended roll-to-roll printing is made possible by a special media tensioning system and different optional motorised unwinding/winding systems, for unrolling and straight winding of finished prints, up to a weight of 100 kg.

Made in Japan, the new ValueJet 1628TD/2628TD printers will be showcased at all major sign/digital textile printing industry events throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa during the next coming weeks.
